About
You deal directly with the person writing the code.
Pixelrock is one person: Glodi Tambwe, an independent web developer based in Saguenay. No subcontracting, no contact who changes halfway through the project.
How I work
I take on few projects at a time, and I carry each one from start to finish: the planning, the design, the code, the launch and the training. That's what makes a fixed price and a fixed date possible — when one person does everything, there is nothing to coordinate and nobody to wait for.
The trade-off is that I can't take everything. If your project isn't a fit, or if I'm not the right person for it, I'll tell you at the first meeting rather than cost you three weeks.
What I've built
Three projects in production, all done alone: Kibi Label, the site of a beauty studio in Chicoutimi that the owner administers herself; GNOSIS, an AI-powered learning application in four languages; and Zarya, a travel feasibility platform in five languages with twenty-two custom automated checks.
The first shows what I do for a business in the region. The other two show how far I can go when a project calls for it.
What I hold to
- Never show a promise the code doesn't keep. If a feature isn't wired up, the interface says so instead of pretending. That's a rule I apply to my own projects and to yours.
- Make you the owner. The domain in your name, the code in your hands, your copy belonging to you. You have to be able to walk away without negotiating.
- Say the price. A quote that commits to nothing isn't a quote. Mine is fixed, written, with what's included and what isn't.
- Verify instead of assume. A website is tested on what it displays, not on what you meant when you wrote it.
Why Saguenay
Because I'm here, and it makes a difference. Several agencies target the region from Quebec City or Montreal, often at cut-rate prices. I don't compete on that ground: I compete on the one they can't occupy — meeting you at your business, in Chicoutimi, Jonquière, La Baie or Alma, and answering the phone in person.
I also work remotely across Quebec. But if you're from here, you deserve better than a contact form.
